ADDAC System Launches Expression Control and Servo Controller, Ushering in a New Era of Creative Control for Musicians

New solutions from ADDAC System enables users to control up to eight expression pedals, and enable motorized MIDI control over any physical knob on amplifier, effect or other piece of gear

Lisbon, Portugal, December 22, 2025 — ADDAC System announces two new powerful new tools to help musicians foster greater creative control: the Expression Control and Servo Controller. Both products, which are suitable for guitarists, synthesists, and any other knob-turning musicians, are available now.

Expression Control: ergonomic and responsive
With the advent of MIDI, expression pedals have become a powerful means of controlling creative output when one's hands are otherwise occupied. They are simple and effective way to achieve extended control, and are both ergonomic and responsive. Having one's feet controlling different parameters not only liberates the hands, but allows a new dimension of shaping creative outcomes.

Over the years, ADDAC System has unveiled several Eurorack modules making use of expression pedals, but now the company introduces a standalone plug n’play MIDI controller specifically designed for TRS-based. It allows no less than 8 expression pedals to be connected simultaneously, and outputs Control Change messages via either USB-C MIDI, Bluetooth MIDI or standard DIN5 3.5mm jack. As such, it can connect to any synth, computer, tablet or phone making it an enormously flexible creative tool.

Servo Controller: ingenuity and great engineering
In parallel, the new ADDAC System Servo Controller has been inspired by Neil Young’s Whizzer - which was way ahead of it’s time and a great example of how great ingenuity and engineering can converge. The Servo Controller motor system has been developed by ADDAC as a standalone solution, featuring 8 Servo outputs to control any knob on any amplifier, guitar pedal, rack gear, or other piece of equipment.

"The idea behind our Servo Controller was to create a device that would open the possibility to control any knob, any physical knob, be it from a musical device or any other tech appliance that needs to be controlled," says André Gonçalves of ADDAC System. "Our solution comes with a Servo Connector that screws into any compatible physical potentiometer, and a coupler connects the motor shaft to the target knob which will turn as the Servo turns."

The unit uses servo motors, which can be digitally controlled and move to a precise angle. Each motor is controlled by a microcontroller that receives MIDI signals or the internal Expression Pedals and then converts these signals to the 270 degree Servo motor range. Meanwhile, each expression pedal input features 2 knobs: MINimum and MAXimum. These are used to set the range of action of the expression pedal, allowing to dial the range to any sweet spot desired.

Expression Control and Servo Controller are available now and priced at €220 and €320 respectively. To learn more, including specifications, features and specific application examples, please visit www.addacsystem.com.
