Maximize your space time: Introducing ADDAC Wheeled Cart

Ergonomic side companion from ADDAC System designed to help make music creation more productive and efficient

Lisbon, Portugal, August 14, 2020 — Gear lovers around the world know how hard it is to achieve the perfect working setup. Several different factors come to play: space constraints, ergonomics and aesthetics to name only a few. With these ideas in mind, ADDAC System — creator of the massive 21U Monster Frame for Eurorack — designed a cart to be a side companion to any musician's main desk. The cart, which is customizable in several shelf configurations, is designed to house most standalone music devices including pedals, drum machines, desktop synths, effects and other items.

Story image

The cart is expandable to 12 drawers, and the user can set custom heights to fit hardware from any brand. There are 12 sets of pre-drilled holes every 5cm in height, and the bottom shelf can accommodate smaller pedal boards. Large 10cm caster wheels allow for smooth movement around your environment and lockable wheels are optional.

The top platform of the cart and all drawers have a high lip to prevent hardware slippage. Also, because the cart is wider than standard 19" racks, rack extensions can be installed by the user at his or her own preference — such racks allow easy installment of patchbays, soundcards and other rack gear.

Drawers can be purchased independently, and these are easily installed by the user as one's setup expands over time. Drawers can be installed at every 5cm in height to fit any hardware device using existing pre-drilled holes. Heights can be easily changed at any time making it easy to adapt to an evolving setup. Also, a small lever inside the drawer runner allows the drawer to be removed from the cart entirely, allowing easy installation of hardware.

Above is a 5
drawer version hosting a TG33 desktop synth, a Roli Seaboard 25, a Mellotron micro, Soma’s lyra8, Elektron’s Digitone, 2 midi controllers, several pedals and a patchbay (using our rack adapters) to conveniently re-arrange the pedal path on the fly. A small pedal board at the bottom shelf can be pulled to the floor for use and placed in the cart for storage.

Pictured above, the back of this cart features a dual power strip with 16 outlets and 2 main power switches in rack format using our rack adapters. As 6 of the hardwares have midi we installed a midi hub so that only one USB cable goes out to the computer. A multipar cable connects all synths and conveniently sends one single cable out of the back into our soundcard.
